where exactly does this grinding noise come from? im assuming the front of the car, maybe due to the strain on the charging system when you turn your headlights on. does it grind every single time you turn them on? and could be a bad switch or fuse for the wipers. not sure if the wipers have their own fuse or not

i do believe that your headlight wires are crossed with the starter

ok so i can turn the head light on with the dash lights turned all the way down and its fine, but as soon as i make my dash a little brighter it does it. so its my dash lights not my head lights. so could my dash light wires crossed with my starter?

can't say for sure without being there to test it but if the engine starts to spin when the cars is off and the dash lights are turned up id say so, also explains the grinding, when the car is running and you try to engage the starter it makes a good grind
