Default 02 vert power windows - HELP!

Its my daughters car, 2002 V6 vert, when the drivers door is FULLY open all windows with the exception of the drivers rear go up and down, as soon as the door gets about 1/2 way closed ALL windows no longer work. Open door back up FULLY and they work again. Im guessing bad wire in the door boot or ???. Anyone have a schematic? I "think" the drivers rear motor is bad BUT it works every once in awhile, thats why I think wiring problem somewhere or faulty switch but do not know how to test. Thanks for any and all help in advance. Other things are no interior lights (fuse is good) and no lights on pass. visor mirror. but windows is biggest concern now. Also, the manual refers to a "GEM" when checking fuses, what that?

My guess is a bad ground wire that is getting "disconnected" when the door is getting closed, or a wire is getting pinched when the door is getting closed. Either way I think you will have to take the door panel apart to check the wires. The first thing to do is check the fuses. I dont know what a "GEM" is but if you pull the fuses you will be able to tell if they are good or bad just by looking at it.

yea, pull back the rubber boot that covers the wiring at the door side (Car side is a PITA to put back in) and check for pinched or bare wires.

No pinched wires, a cut wire. I think it was blue with a black stripe, whatever, anyways when the door was open it took the stress off the wire to where they touched and the windows would all work, start closing door and wire started to stretch and quit making contact so that's why the windows quit working when door was closed. Put a small length of wire in between the broken piece to add length, soldered it all up and put everything back together, good to go. She has all new switches in the car too. It was a ROYAL PITA working in that small of an area.

Kinda strange for something that to go bad, but, I guess when there's over a million of them running around, then the odds are that a "one in a million" problem will occur
