tech questions
I searched the thread but didnt find exactly what I was looking for so alas I must post. If this has been asked before then I apologize.
Due to the fact that nothing is ever easy when working on cars I am stuck in a rut. I went to replace the rear brake pads on my vehicle and both my rear calipers are shot. I am going to get new ones tomorrow and my question is, how do you remove the emergency brake cable from the caliper? I have never done rear brakes before so i have never had to mess with them and I do not want to destroy my e-brake cable. I need to remove them before I go get the new ones so I dont have to pay the ridiculous core charge at advanced auto parts.
Also I was looking at the exhaust on my car and it looks like it is set up for dual exhausts. There are two pipes running from the front of the car(no CIat converter) and they are Y piped into 1 pipe that runs out of the back drivers side. If this is the case all I need for a Flowmaster system is to remove the Y pipe and run the Flowmaster pipes out to the back right? I will post a few pictures tomorrow for my exhaust question if what im saying doesnt make sense.
Any help is appreciated for getting my Stang running well.

well im not sure if im right or not but, or if this applies to this or any year mustang, did you just try to press the caliper piston in like with a c clamp?? cuz i coulda sworn you needed a caliper tool to be able to press the caliper piston back in. what it does is turn the piston while it presses it back in at the same time, and thats the only way to be able to get it compressed. atleast thats what one of my buddies told me. like i said im not sure if it applies to mustangs though, you can rent the tool cheap at like autozone, hope this helps
Yea I got the tool but when I was compressing the caliper on the drivers side the seals shredded and it locked up half way in... so now it wont budge and the seals are shot anyway.... the right one pressed in which apparently is a big no no....
Glad you got the caliper off, they are a big PITA when I was replacing my rear pads. As for the exhaust, duel exhaust should look something like this:

See how they come straight off the cats and dont touch at all. Of course you can always do a X pipe where the pipes cross eachother like an "X", or you can do a H pipe where the pipes look like mine but have a small pipe that runs from one side to the other.

oh ok... they must have just put a tip on it then.. cause its loud and the tip is way too big to be a stock tip... but I will get my dual flowmasters soon enough!!! Anyone know a trick to ripping a back quarter window out without breaking it?
