Default Urgent cooling help needed

Ok so I am having a strange issue with me car that only started recently. I had it overheat on me a week ago so I did a flush of the system and oil change just to make sure on the easy stuff. Then it kept up and I have since changed the radiator and thermo, the temp guage gets up to half way but I opened the hood when i got home and the coolant in the overflow tank is bubbling like crazy and steaming. Help!!

How bad did it overheat? Is the fan kicking in? Any smoke? Hopefully not a head gasket or warped. You could do a compression check. Hopefully it is something simple and here is a bump.

yep the fans work no smoke other than the steam, It runs completely fine other than this overheating issue.

How old is the rad. cap? Are you running a water/coolant mix or water/water wetter mix? As long as you are sure your gauge is reading properly and it is staying near straight up, you shouldnt have a problem. the overflow will boil over at a lower temp than your cooling system due to the system being pressurized.

Possible air bubble?? Did you open the check valve when you were putting in new coolent? Did you run the heater at full blast to get the air bubbles out...

Yeah that thing. It sits onto of the thermo housing. It says something to the effect of "open me before you refill coolent. Close me before you start car".

A bubble would cause it to overheat pretty fast, not just get half way. I would guess your leaking pressure into your coolant system.

How bad did you overheat.
