Default Need help with AC

Hello everyone, my wife's AC in her 96 3.8 mustang is not blowing out the vents on the dash any longer. It started last week it was working fine up until last week when she stopped by a store. When she got back in the mustang and started in up it was not blowing out the vents any longer. However it is blowing out the defrost vents and a little on your feet, when you change the fan speed you can here it change the speed of the blower. I have changed from AC to max ac and to heater and it still only blows out the defrost. Any ideas what it could be and why when stopped by the store it was working fine and then re-started the car it stopped blowing out vents on the dash and started blowing out the defrost when she had not touched any of the settings. Thanks for any help.

your vents could be stuck shut by the blower motor... there could be a clog somewhere, the blower motor could be going out... rip apart your dash and check it out... thats your best bet if you dont wanna take it somewhere to get it looked at

If it is only blowing out the defroster then you have a vacuum leak somewhere. It defaults to defrost in Ford vehicles.

Had the one on my Ford Contour fixed two or three times and it was doing it again when i sold it.

Yeah. Check the vacume tree on the drivers side of the engine bay, next to the power steering pump. It will have like 3 small vac. lines running from it. Trace those to see if one is broken or came loose. Mine did the same thing.

Most likely, the "blend door actuator" went out. It's what controls were the air flows by a vacuum operated solenoid that opens a little door in the a/c plenum.
