Unhappy

I already have a tuner, so I guess all I'll need is the actual custom tune. Hopefully I can find some ported heads for cheap (relatively speaking) and get an SSMS Comp cam next year! BTW---Does it make since to install a cam without upgrading the heads (bottle neck effect)???

You'll still see a gain definitely however it will just be held back a little unless the heads/intakes and worked on.

I noticed great gains with my cam running on stock heads. SSM's test car made 231rwhp with just their "Lumpy cam" and long tubes. 6Stang99 made 240rwhp with LT's, underdrive pulley, Windstar intake, ported lower intake and basic bolt ons. He also had stock heads

Really? That's the cam I was looking at! I already have a SSMS ported lower and windstar upper and that provided me a very noticeable gain!!! I've heard mixed things about UD pulleys, so I'm not sure if those are worth the money. And I've also heard the LTs are more for sound than performance and since I already have true duals I'm not sure how much more those would benefit at this point. Wouldn't I need a custom tune if I upgrade my heads and/or cam?

LT's make ALL the difference. Especially with the cam. With out the longtubes I made 212, with the long tubes I should be at 240. Yes, you'll need a custom tune. With the ported lower and windstar upper, with cam and tune, you'll make pretty good numbers. Add in the LTs and it's about as good as you can go without touching the heads.

I feel like the heads aren't that restrictive because he made 240 on a 3.8 with stock heads where people have built full 4.3's with the entire ssm powerpack and all the bolt on's and still made just shy of 260 if i remember right.

Its just seems like if you can make 240 at the wheels its not worth the extra couple grand for 250-260 at the wheels for a complete forged stroker kit and heads from the numbers i've seen.

Default 08 GT wire harness help!

Hey,
Does anyone know where I can find a stereo wire harness adapter for my shaker 500 radio for an 08 GT? I see that they have them up until 07 but I cant seem to find them for the 08. Does anyone know where I could find them to install a new head unit.

Also how do you start a post for a new question on this forum? I cant figure it out. Thanks

Eh, just port some stockers. A good shop should be able to do a decent enough job
