Noisy front end
So I have been trying to figure out what this squeaking noise coming from my front is an I have narrowed to down to 2 possibilities, although im sure there could be more. When ever the wheel is turned at low speeds and when you climb in and out of the car there is a squeaking noise coming from the front passenger side... I believe it could either be the power steering pump as it does it mainly when the steering wheel is turned, or it could be the ball joints. Im not 100% sure on the ball joints because I would think it would do it when im driving over bumps like it did in my Dodge Ram.
Any ideas? Ill try and post a video later if I can

Midas will try and rip you off. They wanted $540 to replace my ball joints and do a alignment job. Found a local shop that did it for $140. My fist guess would be the shock but without a video its very hard to say. You can test the shock by pushing down on the front (one side at a time) and see how long it takes to rise, how "bouncie" it is.

well Midas said they would charge me $678 for 4 new tires, new front and rear brake pads, my front rotors resurfaced, an alignment, oil change, and transmission flush... they were the cheapest I found here so if its the shock or struts then Ill just have them do it while the car is up.
I guess imma have to go buy a camera with a video option lol

Wait!!!
1.The brakes pads we can help you do, they are easy.
2. Why do you need an alinment job? Are your tires wearing bad, are you doing something with the suspention? Does the car not drive straight? If you said "no" to those questions then you DONT need an alignment job, they are just trying to get more money out of you! 3. Rotors can be turned for like 10-15 dollars a rotor at Pepboys, ORilies, or someplace like that.
4. Do the oil change youself, chances are they are going to use some crap oil, and most likely you need full synthetic oil for your high mileage engine.
5. The trans flush is probably needed, so if anything they should do that, but thats it.

I know how to do the pads, but I just rebuilt my back brakes(pads, rotors, and calipers) and they are squealing. I know my front rotors need to be turned and as a result the front pads need to be replaced. Midas is giving me a lifetime warranty on the brake pads so when they go i just go back to get new ones. I was going to do the oil change myself but the drain pan plug is stipped and I cant get a bite on it to get it lose. as for the alignment the answer to all those questions is yes except for the suspension. I know it needs the alignment I dont have a doubt about that... I didnt even let them look at my car I just called them for a price on all that work.
Ill call pepboys and see what they say, I didnt call them cause usually they charge more here then anyone else, but I will call and ask. Im just tired of messing with the brakes on it because obviously im missing something if the back brakes are still squealing.. I just need to get it drivable for my wife to take to work and so I can put my kids in it

Pep boys wants $655.73 for the tires, front rotors, pads, and oil change with high mileage oil. They told me not to do synthetic if I havent been running it and they said not to do the flush because the tranny would prolly start slipping... so they want more then midas because they want $70 to do the alignment so my price would be over $700... and the tires pep boys is offering are cheap tires while Midas is offering bridgestone/firestone fusions... but if im not doing the transmission flush then im only paying $548 for everything Pep boys offered plus the alignment at Midas
you would save SOOOOOO much money if you bought a basic toolkit and did it your self. 2 rotors and a set of pads from autozone is $120+$40 in tools +$50 for a GOOD oil and filter leaving you with like 450 for a very nice set of tires.
once again... I already put rotors, calipers, and pads on the back and they are still squealing and acting up... and the oil pan plug is stripped and I tried for 2 hours to get it lose and couldnt get a bite on it to get it off...
