Default v-6 mods?

Hey fellow 'stang drivers,

I am thinking of modding my 2000 v-6 stang, and I was wondering what are some modifications I can do to it to improve horsepower and/or possibly torque that wont cost me an arm and a leg, keep my car somewhat modest on gas consumption as well as a strong, street reliable motor (as it will be a daily driver)

-Cheers

Hello Kwazi. I'd say put a nice dual exhaust on and a cold air intake, some lower rear gears and a chip or programmer. It will sound good and put some pep in it's step.

That would be underdrive pulley ^^^ LOL. Atlantic blue has a 42% red pulley if I remember right. That's awesome!

Modding is definitely addictive. I have a list of mods I want to do, but unfortunately I don't have the money. It's really expensive, well, for me since I am in school too.

But, there are a lot of options for you for a good price and to add some good pep.

yes a 42% smaller u/d pulley is awesome for sure. motoblue makes a great billet one that comes with a new harmonic balancer for about 130 bucks form www.rpmoutlet.com , also, get rid of the 2 biggest cats and fabricate an H pipe to your favorite cat back. a CAI with a k&n filter doesnt hurt and if you have some more money- GEARS! im all over a set of 4.10s and auburn posi or a 8.8" ford rear with 4.10s (which ever is cheaper) in the coming months

Since you have a manual you can do a gear change (to 4.10s of course) and not require a flash tuner to correct the speedometer. A SpeedCal will do the job for less $$.
