Default Odometer Not Working

I just purchased a 1996 Mustang, and I realized the odometer was not working. Neither is the trip-meter. I bought it with 106k on it...but I'm not sure if that is correct or not. I've looked at this site, and glanced at the tutorial. Is it hard to fix this issue? Will I have to tear off the cluster just to see what gear is bad?

Thanks, and hello from the new guy.

Yes you have to take out the cluster to replace the gears. Or like Shadown said take it back to the stealership and make them fix it, by law they cant sell it to you like that.

Nope I bought it from a private seller. Looks to be in pretty good condition though...so I'm not all too worried, and honestly I should have caught it as I thought I noticed it, but didn't remember/say anything.

I was just wondering if there was a way to check which gear I needed, because the website had two separate ones. I suppose I'll just remove the cluster though.
