Default Couple questions, 2003 v6

When i start my car, and when Im driving, I hear a clicking from the front, my friend said my alternator is going bad, is this probably the case? Also, It makes a kind of whining sound when idle and driving, and sometimes turning. I was wondering if all mustangs do that, or is it something I can fix? Thanks, new here, looks pretty cool here.

the whining noise sounds like its the power steering pump. no worries, im pretty sure that everyone here will say theirs does it. the clicking could be something unrelated though. and welcome to MF! it is cool here

oh and by the way, i just looked at the pictures of your mustang, its really nice! where did you get the mach 1 cluster from? and did you program it to have the same mileage as your car? or is it different? kind of off topic, but wanted to ask.

it should be alright. if you notice that the steering wheel is hard to turn sometimes and other times its normal, then the power steering pump would need replaced. just make sure you have enough fluid in there.

Are you running your A/C when you hear the clicking? Compressor clutch could be rapidly engaging and disengaging caused from a low refrigerant level. As far as the whine, I would check all the pulley bearings and make sure they sound good, and check the p/s fluid. If all is fine, then it is probably the already mentioned notorious power steering whine, which is nothing to worry about.

no im not running the a/c when it happens, but when I do run the a/c it sounds like the fan blowing the a/c is clicking too now to mention it. but I dont use it much. It sounds like the alternator, I started it up and popped the hood, and the sound was coming from inside or right next to the alternator

I say power steering too on the hum. Fill it up.

the clicking could be a few thing...valve, timing, or mostly on these the exhaust manifold. mine clicks a little too. I have headers though so know it aint that lol. I dont worry with mine,...yet.

No the compressor does not run when running the heater. It runs when running the defrost, but not the heater.
