Default How to disble seatbelt DING DING DING ??

Super annoying. I always wear my seat belt so I dont need to be reminded, but I cant even warm up my car without that annoying ding ding ding for the seat belt reminder. Is there a separate fuse for that or how can I disable it?

I know in my 05' F150 there was a sequence in which you had to buckle and un buckle the seat belt so many times in a given time.

It may be the same with the Mustang.

Otherwise you could just grab a junk yard buckle and plug it in when you want to warm your car up.

The 1st procedure worked on my 2001

-Turn car keys to power up but not start the car.
-Wait till the seatbelt light goes out
-Put the seat belt buckle on and off 3 times
-Turn your park lights on once
-Put your buckle on and off 7-10 times till the seatbelt light flashes rapidly
-Once the seatbelt light stops flashing
-Put the seatbelt on
-Start up your vehicle

or

Step 1: Turn ignition switch to ON. All the way forward without cranking the engine.
Step 2: Wait until the seatbelt alarm to go off and stop. About 1-2 min.

-- Steps 3-5 must be completed within 60 seconds or the process with have to be repeated.

Step 3: Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt three times, ending with the belt unbuckled.
Step 4: Turn the headlights on then off.
Step 5: Buckle then unbuckle the belt three times ending with the belt unbuckled.
--After step 5 the safety light will be turned on for about three seconds then go off.
Step 6: Within seven seconds of the safety belt light going off buckle then unbuckle the belt again.
--That should disable the safety alarm if it is currently activated or vice versa. You will see the seat belt light blink a few times to confirm it has been done successfully.

Good Luck. I did it on my first try and no you don't have to do it every time. It will disable the chime until you want to reactivate the seat belt warning.

My seatbelt sensor doesn't work when it's really cold outside for some reason. When the car is warmed up, it works fine. Also interested into how to turn this off.
