Default engine lag

he all im doin my friend a favor because hees an idiot... lol

he has a 01 3.8 stang with the 5spd and i after driving it think it has a problem...

in between shifts the engine dosent drop RPM like everything else i have driven, it hold the RPM so when i speed shift even in i lift completly off the throttle it lunges the car forward. also it seems a little gutless from what i drive and i dont think it should be

what could it be? he has a cracked exhaust manifold but ive had that problem b4 and never gotten this problem

it dosent feel liek the clutch is giving out, the engine just dosent drop engine rpm like it should, like the throttle is being help open or something

sticky throttle plate. I find that happens in high dust areas. Take the intake hose off at the throttle body and take some carb cleaner or intake cleaner on a rag and manualy open the throttle plate (with the car off) and clean the area around the throttle plate. You'll probably find a bit of 'ring' around the plate that causes it to stick.

If that doesn't work, remove the TPS and clean it.

Get a V8, that should solve the engine lag.
