Default Dash Lights not working

I have checked and replaced every fuse in the box, and checked all possible wiring to the dash and can find no reason why the lights will not work, does anyone know what could be wrong? or of any way to test and find what it is?

Did you pull the gauge cluster and check the gauge cluster cable?

I hate electrical problems. :|

Is everything stock or does it have an aftermarket alarm, remote start or stereo?

Problems can come from shorts or splicing into wires.

Hmmm, did I mention that I hate electrical?

*For this part you will need a wiring diagram.
Remove your metal inspection plate under the steering wheel.
Remove your cluster.
Begin inspecting and testing your wiring.

If your not up for that then you may as well let the dealer tackle it.
I know I wouldnt want to do it. :x

btw, this could be as simple as having a bad circuit board on the back of the cluster.

If you have any friends that have a 99-04 you might want to try swapping clusters to see if your dash lights come back on. Of course you wont be able to start your car like this but you WILL be able to test your dash lights.

haha like I said I hated to ask but just making sure. I would not try and tackle this myself because electrical is just a headache. I would for sure try what neo suggested and swap out the guage cluster and see if thats it; bout as far as I would take it though.

Well i tore the cluster out, in case anyone else runs into this problem here's what i found.
Swapped clusters and had no luck, so while it was out i chased all the wiring it could be and found a short in the wiring going into the fuse box from just wear and tear on an 11 year old car that gets driven a little too hard
