Default Procharger question

I have an 04 3.9l mustang completely stock and I want to buy and install a pro charger but I'm not sure if I need anything else or need to be worried about anything breaking? Like the rear end or tranny breaking?

yeah you can't really bolt on that much extra power without upgrading the other stuff behind the engine and expect it to last, if you do that you'll have made a grenade.

You understand that a procharger is no small task, nor cheap, right?? If you want to simply make your car faster, you should look for smaller, WAY less expensive bolt-ons. You can upgrade the headers, get cams, change around the exhaust, get gears, a tune, cold air intakes, etc etc.

There are plenty of things you can do to make your car faster, that are way less expensive than installing an entire procharger system. However, if you're dead set on installing a procharger, you'll need many upgraded parts. Look around on Procharger's website, as well as these forums for a detailed list.

Hope this helps! And good luck with your modding, sir.

procharger
fuel injectors
fuel pump
detroit true trac or 8.8 (rear end)
upgraded clutch (if auto don't touch it, maybe add a j-mod or trans cooler)
get it tuned
enjoy.

**however I would suggest going turbo**

There is only one cam in a push rod engine FYI. It's not a modular that requires two. Go with some gears first, drop in K& N and some pulleys, dual's with H pipe, that should free up a few pony's.

A supercharger is the best thing to do, a cam, heads, ported intake, etc will put more strain on the fuel system for the HP yield and will make your car get much worse MPG, which is getting to be a bad thing with gas steeply climbing again.

As long as you don't run more than 10 PSI max, your engine will be fine. Your stock fuel injectors will not support the load nor will your fuel pump. The transmission will hold up to around 300-350 torque, so you'll be on the fringe there but you should still be fine. The rear end needs to be swapped however, and with an S/C I wouldn't run any higher than 3.73 cause all you'll do is burn rubber off the line and have no control.
