Shock question
Replacing Rear shock absorbers on my mustang convertible. I've got the lower shock mount removed, but the top *underneath the lining behind seats* the bolt isn't wanting to turn, im wondering, is this a reverse thread or what?
Is it more than turning the bolt? lol
I've replaced shocks and such before, not sure why it isn't wanting to come loose.

I'm not sure if it's reverse thread or not but keep in mind it could be rusted on so you may need an impact to break it. That or a breaker bar, some good muscle, and a good angle for leverage.

This is what the problem is, when using anything except an impact gun the shaft that the nut is on turns with the nut so it never un-threads. Usually there is a spot of the very top of a shock the put a wrench on to hold the shaft in place while you use the box end of a wrench to turn the nut. I've done it before when I did not have access to my air tools, wasn't fast but I was able to get it off eventually.
or you could just hammer a pipe wrench onto the shaft and have it snug up against something so the wrench wont move. its really a pain this way because of space and the wrench doesnt like to grab easily
its an option though
