Default suspension suggestions

im looking into upgrading my suspensions, im really into circuit driving and i have the windstar intake and long tube headers on my car if that helps some, found a eibach kit that come with 0.5 in lowering springs new shocks and struts and anti roll bar, i cant lower the car more than an inch cause of the dips in our town, but if anybody has any suggestions on parts im missing let me know. Plus a side question how important is it to keep the Hood Insulation on the hood?

Personally I would go with the parts you mentioned. If you want more handling you could get a coil over kit. those make a huge difference.

I'm researching suspension parts now too. My set up will be for the street, daily driving though. For you I suggest looking at the website for Maximum Motorsports. They have package deals from as simple as a starter kit that gives you springs, shocks/struts, or caster camber plates and some kits targeting racing. They are very respectable in the Mustang community and they have customer service you can call to talk to someone. Another reason I mention them is because of the fact you only need a 1" drop. Your next best option is looking at Ford Racing springs- The "F" spring is made for the V6 only, The "C" is slightly stiff, the "G" is very stiff, and the "B" is road friendly. You get about a 1"-1.5" drop with them.
Have fun- People here know 100 times more than me and will help you out I'm sure.

+1

Hood liner? Dont need it if you dont care about noise. The surface of the hood in direct sunlight will be hotter than the engine bay temps, if you were worried about the paint.

I dont run a liner on my 03/04 Cobra hood and its black.

As for the Ford Racing springs, Dont forget about a spring being linear or progressive.
Your going to want a Linear spring like the C spring.

In case you dont know.
Linear means the spring rate doesnt change.
Progressive means the spring rate increases as the spring is compressed.

For your DD streets and going to the track, a C spring is a good choice. If you want to go with a coil over setup you will be doing a lot better and can adjust the height on and off the track.

Here is a very good mild length read that should help with what your wanting to do.

you dont need the liner, the shocks/springs are a good place to start, if you want to get fancier you can do sub frame connectors if you have a coupe, rear upper and lower control arms all the way up to a front tubeular K member

A question about the coil over kit, would it be a better choice in the long run? In the future I plan on building the motor and putting a procharger would the power benefit better form a coil over or just get a spring kit for that power? It still want the car set up for circuit driving

I believe that you'll go with the coil over kit because it gives you the instant adjustments you'll need on the track.

yeah id go with coil-overs, but maximum motorsports wont suggest them if you are doing any kind of driving on the road (dont know why). maybe call them up and see what they have to say.
