Default Newb needs more power

So I'm a total newb when it comes to car mechanics. I recently installed my first mod which was a simple CAI and I had to watch the install video on AM while I was installing it. Anyways, considering my skill level, what else can I do to get more power. I know that a tuner is a good option and I plan on getting one soon but is there anything else that a newb like myself could install?

Read though our articles first, tons of info in there.

In short, not many cheap mods that you can do that are actually gonna add power. Like a CAI most basic mods are next to useless in that they add 2-5 rwhp.

Get gears. Not a mod you can do by yourself, but the best bang for the buck. It doesn't give you hp, but will let you rev faster, plus you have two wheel peel. As far as doing mods yourself, get some underdrive pullies they're fairly easy to install. There are cool visual mods too, just search around.
