Introduction and Tranny Issues!
Hey all,
As you can all tell by my post count, Im new! So I just wanted to introduce myself so you all can get to know me as I enjoy posting and sorting through Stang forums often
I live in Tampa, Florida (in case any of you all do as well) and love mustangs. I recently began having transmission problems, and took it to a tranny shop that my buddy recommended, and they said that it needed to be flushed and fluid replaced. So I had that done...
The problem is still there and getting worse. Around 2k of a normal acceleration pull in about 3rd gear or sometimes 4th, the car starts bumping and often times when accelerating seems to lag on and off and causes the needle to lag on my tac.
The car is a automatic with about 90k miles on it. Ive done regular maintenance and as far as mods go, I have the standard bolt ons(tuner, CAI, true duals, 3.73 gears and T lock).
Im running out of options and a new tranny is defiantly in my future. Im looking for some good information and support from my fellow mustang enthusiasts! Thanks in advance guys

I've been reading up about these transmissions for a few years and what not.
Does it act funny with O/D turned off.
Does it act funny with the gear selector in "2" or only while in D past 40mph.
Bumping as in it drops out of gear then gets back in gear? & what speeds?
Transmission flushes can kill them
we've got one with 93k it kinda gets the sag issue thats mentioned but it sounds like yours progressed, did you check the fluid when they drained it? This is one reason to do the fluids yourself, you can normally see stuff in oil/tranny fluid along with coolant to tell what the issue was.

While the O/D is turned off...hmm I dont think it acts any different when its off, no.
While the selector is in 2, I recall one time when it was in 2 and i then shifted it to "D" and it felt like it didnt go into drive, but rather stayed in 2. I had to stop and go back through 1 2 and then to D again to get it to "unstick".
The bumping, as i described it, is literally that, the car bumps repeatedly until you either give it some gas so that the car downshifts to accelerate or let off the gas and give it next to nothing.
I looked at my transmission fluid before it was changed, it seemed very dirty.
Thank you for the response
