I could get a decent looking 4 cyl stang for $100 but needs new engine and transmission, would I be able to drop say a 99-2004 V6 engine in that body its a 86 4cyl stang. I can get the complete enigne with ECU and transmission harness and ect for only $500 with only 32,000 on it. Wuld I have to change the springs and shocks on the front end I know I have to change the motor mounts. I was thinkin of gettin the 8.8 rear end off a GT also because we are planning on building hte V6 up on that light body. Dropping a V8 in there would be too expensive for me so not interest on any of those replies. Also would it be better to drop 91-95 thunderbird super coupe in it instead of the 200 V6 3.8 out of a mustang. The 200 V6 has 193 HP but I have no idea about the super coupe... we want to know if we can frop the 2000 V6 into that body 4cyl mustang before we drop it in....?????? Thanx Chris

Any combo is possible. Because of the changes from the older FOX chassis to the SN95 version, you will need to probably fabricate motor and tranny mounts as oppsed to find some 'off the shelf'. I don't have a clue what driveshaft you'll need or which rearends are going to fit that year stang with a newer tranny. It will be a custom job to say the least. I would visit a local tranny shop and perhaps even a step further, a Mustang performance shop if they have one locally. It may not be worth it.

 

ok well for one thing, you can get an older 3.8 that doesn't have as much power but would be a much easier swap considering that they made those cars with that engine, you can always get a supercharger 3.8 which would be pretty cool and i know not to many peole have them.
