Default question about Cats...

First off is'nt cats supposed to help clear pollution from cars, or something else??? Second since Ohio just got rid of the Ohio E-check which is inspection of pollution out of cars etc. So since this is no longer could I get away with running no cats and just a X-pipe to mufflers to the tips? Also with no cats, would'nt that make my exhaust alot louder? Thanks.

Cats clean up the exhaust, yes. It is against the law to remove properly functioning emissions equipment. You could get away with as long as the popo's don't check the underside of your car. And finally, yes removing the cats will make it louder.

I was thinking about getting what everyone else does...lol flowmasters, anyone have any better sug. on exhaust for sound and performance? Thanks fellas.
