Search ebay for a factory service manual, or contact ford and buy a new one. You should be able to find one pretty cheap and will pay for itself with this job alone. Its the first purchase I make when buying a new (to me) car. Good luck...

Or buy a Haynes/Chilton manual. Those run about $18-$24 depending where you get it. I have one for each car I've ever owned. Well worth it, and replacing the alternator is pretty straightforward (even for a girl! )

Haynes/Chilton manuals are like CliffsNotes. After reading it you feel like you know whats going on, but when test day comes you realize your missing some important piece of info...

Um, they are pretty self explanatory.

The most thought instensive part of it is looping the Serp belt back around and dealing the the belt tensioner.

If you are going to be doing any kind of self service and repair to your Mustang you NEED a repair manual.

You don't need anything more than CliffNotes for an alternator, unless you're completely clueless

Actually, I've used Haynes manuals before to do headgaskets on multiple cars. They give plenty of info and never had any problems after finishing the job. And remember-this is coming from a girl!!!!
