Default Acceleration problem

Hey guys...first of all, new to the forum!

Anyway, I just bought a 2003 Mustang with 78,000 miles on it and no mods. Driving it around a little, however, I noticed an annoying problem; when I accelerate from a dead stop or even from like 20 miles per hour, the car feels bogged down, almost like im traveling up a hill. When I really hit the pedal it jumps fine, but I can push the pedal almost halfway down and the car doesnt seem to accelerate much at all...any ideas what could be causing this?

try a tune up
try tightening you throttle cable first though these cars seem to have a lot of play in the cable. after i tightened mine throttle was more responsive but still sucks if its an auto.

you can do either. but it'd be nice to get a tuner like sct so you cant change tunes, make custom ones, read codes ....
they're around 380 i believe at americanmuscle.com and they come with free tunes for life.

going to a shop you only get the one tune and ive been quoted 225 for a tune.

if you have an auto a tune will help alot with the shifting

What kind of gas mileage would one expect from a tuning with a V6 Auto? Right now I average about 18mpg and it's stock. The highest I ever got was 26.8 mpg and that was a constant 70 mph with a 35 mph tail wind for about two hours.

Ok so I took up the slack in the pedal which helped at first, but after doing some extensive driving it seems like the car bogs down after I'm done driving on the highway, like i'll get off the highway and be stopped at a red light, and after that the car feels like its struggling...could it be overheating?

Wouldnt that drain the power all the time? My car feels peppy when I first start driving but feels like it starts to lag after some time...most noticeably after exiting the highway
