Default 94 V6 3.8L Mod Suggestions

Hello all,
I'm brand new to this site so sorry if i'm approaching this wrong, but here we go.
so i just got a new (to me, haha) 94 manual Mustang, it's a V6 3.8L as listed above, from my neighbor. it's only got 64,000 miles and is all stock. i was wondering what mods i should get for it. now, i am 16 and am not trying to go crazy, it is my DD, and i don't know whole lot about cars. i wanted to just get some more HP out of it and get a quicker acceleration rate. i was looking at maybe getting 4.10 gears? should i? would that lower my gas economy at all?what else would you guys recommend? thanks so much!

would also recommend a cold air intake, and maybe change out the exhaust.
also check out tuners.

i recommend the website american muscle. for all that stuff.

At 16 - my best advice is a cat back dual exhaust system and gears. Second step would be wheels/tires. Then if you really want to 13" front brakes and lowering springs. Then keep it clean and enjoy it. At 16 the one thing I think gets over looked by 99% of owners is learning how to care for the car. Sounds like you have a nice one. Work to keep up with the general maintenance of it (clean it, oil changes, coolant flushes etc...). Save your money for better things later.

Skip the cold air intake because they don't do much more than about 1 hp on these cars.

alright, so definitely exhaust and gears, and possibly a tuner. now what kind would you guys recommend for the exhaust? i know there's flowmaster and stuff, but are the more expensive ones really worth it? and what gears should i get? is 4.1 good? also somebody told me it might be possible to add another gear on and make it a 6 speed? would that be possible and worth it, cost and performance wise?

If you want a good sound and low price, MAC makes a bolt on Y pipe back kit that would be a good place to start. Check out youtube and do some listening. There's also a thread at the top of this forum with members sound clips and exhaust info so you can tell what set ups sound like.

For a manual go with 3.73s a lot of people have had problems with 4.10s and taking off with a stick.

No you can't just "add" an extra gear for a 6 speed. You would need to do a T-56 swap and it's not worth the cost.

For exhaust listen to the exhaust clips in the stickies up top and decide what sounds best to you.
