I just bought this car (98 V6 auto conv) and when I locked the doors the theft light started flashing then 30 seconds later it set of the lights and horns. Found a website that explained the way the alarm worked. And after about 30 minutes I had figured out it was the switch on the end of the cable that indicates the trunk lock had been pooped was the culprit. I disconnected it and now the alarm works normally.

Is there a way to reset that cable or should I just leave it disconnected?
