I just like to know why does the fan wait so long to come on, I was sitting at redlight other day about 75 degrees and the temp started going above half way before i heard the fan kick on, is there a way to make the fan come on sooner?

You could wire it to the switch so when you turn the key or start your car it comes on wit hit and stays on till the key is turned off and removed. Had to have that done to my old Trans-Am. it would over heat. The fan was ok but the switch that made it come on was bad or slow. So the guy wired it like that. It never over heated again.

Well, I was driving to school on Wed and my car started heating up, pulled over put some water in it and it was pouring out the bottom. called a tow truck got it home and found out the freeze plug on driver side of the block has a old, took it out replaced. put water in it and it was pouring out the front of the head so I thought, I spent 2 days between working to get it taken apart was about to pull the heads then noticed the Freeze plug on the dirver side head on front had a hole in it, so i replaced that plug, and the one on the other head while had tore apart, im trying tp ut it back together now hoping the freeze plug is what it was all along. i sure hope so but now I have another issue. I have a extra plug up front near the Ac plump that I have no clue where it plugs in, and then I am missing the plug for the TBS sensor I guess im have to take loose the intake man. again to see if i can find the stupid plug i need. also on the back of the intake I am missing a hose, not sure what is suppose to be plugged into it. does anyone have a good pic of the engine compartment? Thanks

Found it, it hooked on the bottom of the engine, think it might be something for the oil sensor, found out car won't run w/o it. got it running then the passenger side was leacking water, turned out to be another darn freeze plug so i got them out had to take out the motor mount jack up motor and all going get rubber ones to go back in, and whenever another off day put it back together lets pray the others dont go out on me

Well she still leaking, I got another rubber Freeze plug today from advanced, I thinking the front diver side freeze plug is leaking now, I know its going to be a PAIN to replace it, i am thinking about going to my moms tomorrow ( where my tools are and where i have room to work on it) I live in a apartment complex now your not suppose to do auto repair plus no room here to do that have to park on the side the street... anyways hotter the weather gets the more the temp goes up, I still hate the fan not coming on till the car gets pretty warm, I never did straight wire it, i thought about it but not 100% on how to do it. those wires going to the fan are pretty big.

i have looked on Google, and youtube for tips on replacing the driver side front plugs but not found much, couple pics. I am sure imma have to drive car up on stands, then jack the engine and loosen the moter mount, think imma try doing it w/o taking the exhaust header loose tho, i hope I can do it w/o cause the passenger side was a big pain, had to undo the flange at the bottom and a\everything.

Things happen at the worst time, I just now got another job but only PT but not making enough to just pay a shop to fix it, I just wish i had a lift cause it be sooo much easier. to work on it.

I have done this many times on other cars, and yes that is a big wire. go to the parts house, and get a universal light/fan relay. (it comes with instructions), and an inline fuse. It will work like a charm. even in Fla. 100+ degree weather. cool as a june bug. LOL
