Engine rebuild
Hey guys I've had some ideas for what I want to do with my car in the future and I wanted your input. Next year I'm planning on doing H/C/I but instead of using the normal upper intake I was thinking of putting on the windstar intake. After that I'm going to save up to switch it to a 4.3 stroker, from supersixmotorsports. I had a few questions about that though. Is there anything along with the stroker kit that needs to be done? I'm thinking along the lines of the inside of the engine. Anything that needs to be fixed on an older car, I've got 103,000 on it and by the time I get around to the stroker I will have quite a few more. I know I'll need to upgrade fuel pump and injectors and get a tune, but anything else? Thanks for your input guys.
First of all do the h/c/i with the stroker, no reason to tear down or pay somebody to tear down the engine twice. Secondly, it may be more economical to buy a 4.3L stroker blocked and put all the h/c/i components on that block, then swap motors and scrap or sell the old motor.
Reason I say that is you don't simply install a stroker kit, the old block needs to be cleaned, maybe machined in spots, and honed. Those fees don't come cheap.

Ok that's kind of what I figured on needing to be cleaned up. Truthfully I don't think I'll mind having to tear the engine apart twice, of course I say that having never completely tearing one apart, I love working on my car. Also the stroker kit is not coming anytime soon, at least not till I get out of college, so another 3-4 years.
I love working on my cars too, but after having taken apart 2 5.0s around 5 times total, it's not something I want to do. It's a whole day project (if you know what you're doing) at best. Not to mention dirty, tedious, and exhausting. Do it once and do it right the first time.
