Default Gauge Cluster

Does any one know where I can find a replacement for my actual gauge face? Im not talking about the whole cluster or putting a revers glow kit on it. The actual face. I'm looking for a white one.

I found this, but Im not exactly sure if this will do what I want.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I don't know how I feel about you spending 93.99 on those gauges.

Check here and see if this is something you're interested in.

Why don't you like AM.come white faces? That are almost the same thing and for half the price.

Matt,

Where do you see them for almost half the price. I see them on AM.com for only 10$ less than what he found.

Matt,
I've tried their reverse glow gauges and they've crapped out on me after 6-8 months

So I'm trying to change the actual face and then maybe replace the lights in the back to get a blue glow.

Either way I love the white so I'm willing to try something different.

Before you put the Reverse Glow Gauges on, do you remember what color your old gauges were?

What color was the face? What color did they light at night? I might be able to help you.

I have an automatic 2002 v6 Vert. The gauges were blackface and glowed green at night. When I popped off the needles and took off the stock overlay. I held it up to the light, and you can see that there is a film on the back of the gauges. I used light grit sandpaper (I think 1000-grit) to sand off the film and as you can see in the picture below, the light will then shine through at whatever color the bulb behind is.

EDIT: This was a partial. I sanded off everything so that down the road, I could place in whatever bulbs I wanted to and change the colors of everything.

Yes I do, they were the same as yours.

Alright this is what I think I'm going to do. I'll get the white face overlay and if it has any coloring on it I'll sand it off, although I don't think it does. Also I'll replace the bulbs in the back of my cluster with colored LEDs, I've ordered some different colors to test out. So this way I'll basically have the reverse glow but in a much more permanent way.

It's actually less permanent (much easier to switch out.) but also, it's much easier to work with and replace/mod.

I just removed my el reverse glo (they still work. If anyone is in the north tri-state area, I will give them to you for free if you want to come and pick them up. They're the ones from AM). I put my old black face one (which I actually like more than white face, yea I'm probably one of the few) and swapped out the LEDs.

Here's a piece of advice. I'm swapping EVERY bulb on the back because I want to mod ALL of the colors.

There are 5 large sockets (for the 4 dial gauges) and 14 small sockets (2 blinkers, 1 high beams, 5 left hazards, 6 right hazards). Because the LEDs are polarized, when you insert it, it may not work at first so you have to remove the LED, turn it around and re-insert it.

This leads me to my next point, if you don't want to be driving with your 11 bottom hazards Potentially not working, test the LED and socket in the blinker lights/highbeam socket, that way you can forcibly initiate the light and test that you entered the LED correctly. Otherwise, you may be driving around without knowing your car is fcuked up.

Just my fyi.

Have you thought about running a sniper tuner, turning off PATS and putting in a 2001 Cobra cluster?

I know you said you didnt want to replace the cluster, but the 01' is pretty much what your looking for and damn near the same price you would pay for those overlays. Then you just need to buy a Sniper Tuner.

By god I do want to do this.

Its what I've been planning on doing this whole time except I was going to pay to have the PATs reconfigured. With this Sniper Tuner, is the turning off of the PATs something simple I can do?

EDIT: Sniper Tuner = +$650...

I'll pass. I'll just take the Cobra cluster to the dealership and have them reprogram the PATs for $130... Then at least it will still offer what little protection it provides to my car.
