Ceramic coating is the best at air cooling
Actually, ceramic coating doesn't cool the air. It keeps the air hotter by insulating the pipes. The higher air temperatures allow for quicker air flow through the exhaust system.

Sorry dude, he's right. Ceramic helps keep the air hotter inside the headers so that when it enters the cats it doesn't take as long to heat up and therefore generates more hp by alowing more air to pass through the cats quicker.

Just in case your wondering your car will need to get up to about 260-275 hp to run in the top to mid 13s, 275-290 to hit the lows consecitivly.

Right. pypesexhaust.com sells full systems coated in ceramic.

hmmm.. then how come there's been a handful of completely stock 99-04 GTs running like a 13.9. stock GTs only dyno at about 230RWHP and about 270RWTQ. give or take a few of course and given you're an excellent driver. people have easily hit 13s with just gears and tires though and the rest stock.

get in the mid 200s with gears and tires and you'll be hittin 13s all day.

sounds good. i was sort of depressed when i found out i had to get a v6 instead of a gt, but for the price difference i'm going to be able to make the v6 beat gts for less money.

Good choice for a car, you'll not only spend less, but you'll save on insurance, gas, and will be a little quicker off the line with a modified v6 over a person with a stock v8.

yeah plus the more you guys talk about parts and the more i look into them, the more i realize there are for these cars. also what exactly does it look like if you lower a car 1.5inches. i found a mac spring kit that lowers the car 1.5 and is only $171. it sounds like a good deal, but is it?? any other mods and info is welcome. thanks guys.

Go for the lowering kit. Lowering your car will increase handling and will give even stock mustangs an agressive look. Your stock springs should coil up about 1-2 inches so get a friend to sit on the hood and you will get a general idea of what your car would look like. Also get 17" or 18" rims to go with your kit. This will further improve your cars looks, because stock 16" rims just don't look that great. tirerack.com allows you to see your rims on a car like yours allowing you to get an idea of what they will look like on your car. Go check them out.

Sorry Nanakai, the 04 Mach 1 shows 310 hp, so they are really about 270, give or take 10 hp, and they only run the quarter in 14.12 seconds @ 105.5 mph, so you will need at least 250hp with your gears and your drive train set for acceleration to achieve 13s. Look on msn under the category autos and look up mustang to see for yourself.
