Only way you can find out is if you ask them what brand it is. Every perf muffler is going to have a different tone whether it's a flowmaster, magnaflow, thrush etc. I'd give them a call back and find what brand it is and do some YouTube searches. Have you tried ordering the exhaust you want thru summit or other online catalogs?

might give them a call back tmrw i think there closed now, i can get one off of magnaflowmuffler.ca for 76$ for a muffler but i wanted to go duals so that would be like 150$ if i get these performance mufflers there only 35$ each. so she wants to go the cheapest way but the most best way. so a performance exhaust wud still change the sound? and give lil more hp and flow correct?

A cheapy muffler is probably going to sound like junk and could rob you of power. I'd stick to the name brand stuff.

^ I agree, best to spend more money on an exhaust that you know how it sounds and like it. I build my car as cheaply as I can but with quality parts that I know work.

Depends on the muffler brand, there are some cheaper brands out there that base their design off of flowmaster, but quality ranges wildly. Reason some are cheaper is cause they use cheaper over all materials that just don't hold up over time and will rust out.

k i called up its an AP Performance Exhaust. they said there a good quality, i looked up a yt video and only found 1 with a 6,5 diseal truck n it sounded pretty good. my idea is to get 2 of them then get duals coming out of the back of my 2000 3.8l 5spd mustang... what do you guys think?

They're some kind of generic brand. Find out what they're made of, if they're anything but stainless steel they're gonna likely rust out.

I think the tone is an important consideration. Once you've dealt with life--see jthorn9 and other above, Sounding good will determine how well you like them. I bought a '99 V6 5sp with a set of generic performance mufflers. While the performance is good and it sounds better than stock, the tone just doesn't measure up to the Flowmaster duals on my '05 V6.

To avoid looking like you're taking advantage of your GF's generosity, maybe you could offer to help pay for the extra? She sounds like a keeper--I've never had anyone offer to invest in my ride!
