Default Crank Pulley

The question pertains only to people that have a 42% size reduction crank pulley, not people with a 25% reduction pully. The 42%s are billit aluminum still, 25%s are usually black and rather heavey, approx 4-5 inches in diameter. My question is how many bolt holes did you use to mount your crank. In other words, I want to know if a 99-04 42% size reduction crank pulley will work on a 98. Mounting should be the same, but not quite sure. They are advertised for 94-04, but the inner mounting size just looks a little too small, and when you click to buy it says 99-04 so any imput would be helpful.

I goot mine at RPMOutlet. They showed that there is indeed a diference. And have a warning to be sure to order the correct one. They carry both pulleys. For the post 2000, and pre 2000. Check them out.

Thats for the harmonic converter, ther pulley is the thing i'm worried about. Its advertised as an 94-04 pulley, but when you go to purchase it its descrition chages to 99-04, so I need to know how many monting bolts are one the back and how wide it is a guess is OK, but exact size would be good. By the way yellow, did you have a problem with your shipment through rpmoutlet, somebody said on another forum some screwed up stuff about rpmoutlet and I want to know your imput. My transaction was cool though.

Tomorrow I will dig out my old water pump pulley and measure it for you. The only prob I had with RPM was they have no communication for back ordered parts. I waited a week foir an overnite of the 70mm T/B I ordered. They never called me, I had to call them. Even then they had no explaination of what was going on. The place I ordered it from the last time had the common courtesy to tell me BBK had a problem with the production run. Defective T/B's got shipped. So I am still waiting, but at least Hill Motorsports is keeping me informed. I should have my T/B mid October now

Thanks for the measurement, but I don't need the water pump pulley, I already bought one from rpm, I nee the crank pulley. In your case that's the small pulley all the way on the bottom, thats the pulley with the harmonic harmonizer attached to the back. They sell the pulley by itself, thats why I need the size. Thanks again!

The harmonic balancer is different on the 98 I believe. I think you have a two piece.

Not sure on my exact hp. I'd say its between 180-200, but this is just a guess, don't know anybody with a dyno and Slidell, close to my hometown, as you probaly know was hit pretty hard by Katrina so I won't be finding out my exact hp for a while. I still have my stock headers on, but will buy JBA soon. I have a Magnaflow full exhaust system with a magnaflow x-pipe on the car and man that baby sounds good, but this upgrade was expensive. The next thing I'm considering is either a new camshaft or a 4.2L upgrade, but I probably won't buy this stuff until around November or just after Christmas after I have paid off my second semester of school and my insurence.
