Default General Mustang Questions

I have a 1997 Mustang V6, that I bought as my first car. Up to this point I have no complaints with the car except for some visual aspects of the car that I want to modify. I live in Miami FL and have been looking for the two front seats to replace because they are all torn up and damaged. The duct tape just wont hold up anymore. If anyone knows about a place where I can pull them out of another Mustang or a cheap alternative, that looks nice of course I would appreciate some help.

Another thing and this is going to make me sound stupid. The metal piece that the hood of the car latches onto in the front of the car seams to be bent downwards and the hood lays lower than it should. How can I make this piece a 90 degree angle again for my hood to sit how its supposed to.

Thanks!

Welcome to Mustang Forums. Can you shoot us a pic of the latch? Just guessing at this point but it was probably bent down because it was out of alignment at one time & got slammed down on it

Craigslist too...a lot of people on there parting cars. You can probably find a new hood latch too if yours is bent.

If it's just the seat covers that are torn, then just buy new seat covers. This will be cheaper than seats. In general replacement OEM Mustang seats will run around $700-1200 shipped depending on color and condition. You will be hard pressed to find seats in good condition at a scrap/salvage yard. Not saying its impossible, just very hard cause these places usually pull the seats to sell them on ebay at a premium.

Very true, but I've been lucky enough to find three pairs of seats in mint condition at pick n pull, and only had to pay $15 a piece. My local yard tends to have quite a few 94-98 sixxers, some in not too bad of shape. But it can be a pain to find the right color interior tho

Oi I'm in Miami also. Try Upick. Or get cheap racing seats about 300 a pair as I've seen online.
