Okay, i've been reading the forums about gears and t-loks. So, i'm going to ask the stupid question. What are they, and what do they do performance wise?
We have already discussed this in an earlier post, probably 2 days ago at the most, so I'm going to be brief. Tloks are rear wheel differentials, they keep both tires on the ground and supply even power to the tires to get traction, stock V6s don't have one and therefore only the back right wheel supplies the power. Gears help boost accelleration, bigger gear numbers, bigger boost in accelleration. 4.10:1 mears gears turn 4.10 times per engine cycle, 3.73:1 means 3.73 revs per engine cycle, see 4.10:1 has the higher gear number, more cycles, more power delivery to the wheel. In other words they don't generate rwhp, just transfer more hp from the engine to the rear wheels.
4.10:1 mears gears turn 4.10 times per engine cycle
I think this is backwards. The engine turns 4.1 times for one gear turn.
(but not nessecarily, 4.1 drive shaft turns = 1 wheel turn, engine has to go thru tranny gears also)
higher ratios mean more torque less top speed
lower ratios mean less torque higher top speed
