Default engine swap

ok, i don't know if anyone else has talked about this yet, there are too many threads to read through. anyway, i am planning on putting a 347ci in my manual 2000 v6 mustang soon. the problem is that i don't know what else i need to do to it, i was told that i should put in a 8.8 rear end....i don't know enough about cars to even know what that is, can anyone tell me what else i might need and where i can find it? i saw this http://www.mustangtuning.com/motivegear.html but i'm not sure if that is the rear end that the guy told me i needed, or if that's just part of it. all help is much appreciated, thanks

Wow, in all honesty that sounds like more trouble than it's worth, You'd need to replace your rear-end tranny, suspension components possibly some of the electrical if you don't want to go carbuerated might even need a new k-member. The list goes on especially once you get started because of all those lovely "surprises" that pop up when you start a project of that magnitude.

Not to say it can't be done, it's just a costly, complicated, and lengthy process

yeah read what he said. You WILL have to get all new electrical wiring for the car. Those surprises are going to KILL you.

Anything is possible...I just hope you plan for headaches, let downs and $$$$$$$$$$$ x 10

if you want to get a lot of power, atleast thats what i think you want. Then eather buy a gt and get performance parts for that or get a 4.2 stroker kit and a twin turbo set up. you will spend a little more for that but you won't have to do tons and tons of fab work to get everything to work. not to mention you will have problems with it. stay with the v6 and do a stroke it to 4.2 and twin turbo it, or go to a gt and mod that.
