Just a couple of Qs
My first question is why does my idle not come down sometimes... i was in the parking garage for my school, and i was coasting downhill from the 4th level down, and my rpms wouldnt come down as quick as they normally do when you push the clutch in. i would get into 2nd gear, go around a corner then coast downhill and the rpms would stay pretty high, like 2100, it would come down very slowly... i have noticed this happening a couple of times, but its not too often, just once in a while.
my second question: is the little hole on the firewall right above the passenger side downpipe from the header the ac dripe line? like when i come home i hear water dripping onto the downpipe, it was pretty bad today when i got home (i had the ac blasting). it worried me because is sounded like a constant drip, so i pop the hood and sure enough that little hole on the firewall is dripping water onto the downpipe. it was steaming up a little bit too... let me know what you guys think. should i put a hose on that hole and run it towards the fender or what?
thanks
Doug

Doug yes that is what that line is...so don't worry if you are BLASTING the A/C its 100% perfectly normal
As for your problems......could be one of two things..or both
1. IAC Sensor...Idle Air Control Sensor. This controls your idle. What happened on mine was that it would get stuck pretty high and then whenever it wanted came down. It's like a $25 part from Ford, do yourself a favor and swap it out...very easy to do..matter of 3 minutes...you will know right away when you drive it..will feel like a million bucks.
2. CLEAN YOUR MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor. Sometimes the sensor INSIDE the MAF gets clouded, clogy and causes some idle problems...cleaning it out properly will fix it in a jiffy. I believe some used brake cleaner to just spray inside of it. You can even take off your intake and look into your throttlebody (TB) and open the butterfly and see if you can wipe up some of that as well as sometimes the butterfly can get just slightly stuck that wouldn't allow the rpms to come down as fast as they should as its closing "slower" b/c it gets just a tiny bit stuck
Hope that helps!
