Default Problem Plz help!!

I just bought this car and been having this issue with it.By the way its a 95 3.8.I drove an hour yesterday to an interview.Car runs Awesome on the highway. But when I get in town and let it idle or hit a bunch of stop signs it starts overloading I think.I got back in town and right as I turn to my road home it dies.Would not start.Kep tryin and tryin like wtf?Started smellin bad like Nasty oil and gas or somethen.Pushed it home and it sat for an hour.Went to start it and started right up. Its never completly died to yesterday.Usually it spits and sputters for a second leaving a stop sign then just takes off.So I thought maybe fuel pump right?or filter?changed both, same problem. So maybe a tune up?Put LiveWire spark plug wires on it and new plugs, also bought a brand new screaming demon coil pack.Same Problem. OK so someone tells me to try changin EGR.So I put a new one on with a Brand new CAI also, and a new battery.Same problem.Im about to give up.this is nuts!!!Ran OBD scanner right after it died and got 12 codes, freaking crazy.PLZZ HELP!!

What codes did you get?

I had very similar problem and it was the Upstream O2 Sensors.

Some of those are EGR related, a lot are Transmission related but the P1151 is the Upstream O2 Sensor Bank 2. I think that is the Drivers side.

what do I if they removed the cats and o2 sensors are gone? Also couldnt alot of theses codes popped up do to only one code?Example.....the 1151 makes it run like crap, hence it would make other codes pop up?

Could be. Did you have them reset? It is the Upstream (Before Cat) sensor, you have 4. The only way around getting codes from the Downstream (After Cat) is MIL eliminators or a Tuner with Offroad tune.

I would work on one at at time starting with the O2. The EGR would not cause any performance issues.

Check codes for fuel pressure sensor. This would stop the car from running because the fuel injectors would no longer push fuel into the cylinders. Just a guess diagnose before spending the $130.00

Not helpful at all but after reading this thread and many others i am convinced we'd all be better off if computers were taken out of cars like the older ones.
