I have true dual exhaust with flowmaster 40 series on my 03 stang V6. No H or X pipe currently....would there be a difference in sound if I had an X or Y pipe put on? if so which would sound better for my money? Or would it make enough difference to even bother?

 

At this point, I'd say why bother. But if you want to hear the dif, I too have an 03 V6. HRnB put up a sound clip in the Sound Gallery in this forum.

 

do you have an X or H on that??? It wont let me listen to your clip, its says something about exceeding bandwith...???

 

yeah the server pooped out b/c so many people were viewing them.

It's really not worth it unless you are a getting a really good deal. It WILL make it louder, but it won't do anything more than that and make it sound raspy/ricey at high rpm's. The reason people do it with V8s is for sound AND b/c the firing order of their engines is corrected with an X or H pipe...whereas our firing order it already perfect and we just don't sound more aggressive as a v8 does

 

Look at my mods list in my sig..X-Pipe. But since you have true duals, it's not really worth it. You will sound a bit better...but to me, it just wouldn't be worth the money.
