Default Cold air intake

i have a 98 v6 and im tryin to put a cold air intake into it as my first addition. One question i have is that on the stock intake pipe i have the MAF sensor. I dont know what i have to do with that. Iv heard a few things one would be to put it on the new cold air intake another was to just take it off cuz it doesnt do anything for the car. Please help

The MAF sensor must stay as it is among the most important and influential systems on your vehicle.

Your existing MAF sensor is to be installed on your CAI. It should be in the install instructions.

it should basically go in the middle of the cold air intake
