Lightbulb Instrument panel project

Hello, I decided that the stock green colour of my gauges was just not fitting with the overall changes I was making/planning to make to my car and I had a few questions to ask before embarking on my latest endeavor. I can find numerous posts regarding this same topic but none of them (I felt) specifically answered my questions.

Car info
1998 Ford Mustang V6 3.8L (Base model, not GT or Cobra)

So heres what im trying to do,

I still have the original instrument panel in place with the regular incandescent bulbs. I want to replace them with LED for clarity, brightness and colour. Some forums referred to there being a kind of blue film behind the panel that combined with the stock bulbs makes green,
does this apply to a base model 1998 mustang as well?
If I were to buy cool white LEDs would it be blue combined with this film? or should I opt for blue LED instead?

What about number of LEDs?
Most videos or posts I find refer to a 5 LED bulb, but costwise, id rather go for the 4 LED bulbs (link below) The main difference I can find is beam angle (90 compared to 360) but the total lumens is still 15 between the two.
Do i really need to get a 5 LED 360 degree bulb?
Lastly, how many do I need?
A how-to for a Cobra model 1998 said 5 for the dash, 2 for the environmental, is it the same for the base model?

I appreciate all the advice/information you can provide!

Actually I thought it was green film...the bulbs are white. I have a 35th anniversary gauge cluster in mine with white face gauges. I wish i had LEDs though. I'd also like my odometer to be blue not green.

See this is weird because my 94 lights up blue, vary dim on full bright to boot. I wasn't sure if this was stock or not as that's how I got the car. But my 04 everything is green.

Thats why I am confused because I cant peg down an actual example/answer! More often than not when I search for 98 mustang dash/instrument/gauge etc. I get cobras or GTs, and when the keyword base or v6 is shown its just because it was in someones signature or on the sidebar of a forum. the base trim/engine may not be as glamorous as the upper models but surely someone has done it before with theirs!

Arrow Attempting it anyway

Well.... since I havent gotten any definite answers here I think I will just go ahead and order some "cool white" 5SMD LEDs instead of the 4 LED. Ill post my findings/results here so that others can benefit from it and not be penalized with lack of information just because they dont own a Cobra or GT model.

OK, so I FINALLY completed this task.

Before:

After:

Please note that my camera stinks and my photography skills stink worse, it looks the same side by side based on these pictures but I can assure you that it is definitely brighter after installing the LEDs.

Heres what I found out from my own car.
-The stock bulbs are indeed an awful yellow incandescent.
-The film behind the gauges is blue, even in the base model.
-194 Wedge base 5LED 220* or better gets the best result for this type of upgrade/replacement
- I needed five bulbs in total for JUST the gauges. I didnt even try to touch the HVAC.

It was really just as easy as the tutorial from mikefordmustang.com said it was. Although, personally I had a bit of trouble when it came to the lightswitch ****, the previous owner stripped the head of the hex nut and thought superglue would solve keeping the **** on.... I will now have to replace the rod and **** once the part comes in seeing as how I had to pull a drastic move and drill it off (rather extreme, but it worked) thanks to all who helped me in this discussion!

When I can afford to, I plan to just change out my stereo unit because its the stock model too. When I get that done Ill just install the HVAC and shifter bulbs to complete the blue look. Since they all require the same panels and stereo to be removed.
