Default Bogus Claims

Why do all these manufacturers and stores advertise all kinds of HP gains and say they're dyno-tested, but they really don't come anywhere near that? I don't know, like the rpmoutlet.com has a power package with a flash tuner and pulley set that says it'll give you 30 HP!!!! Is that possible?

Yes it is. You get around 10 from the pulleys, maybe 15. Then with the Diablo tuner, I got another 8 RWHP with thier stock minor tune., My guy at the race shop said with more tune, Ie: remapping the fuel injection, I can get from 15-20 more. Add that up

10+8+20=38 The first 2 are definalty true by dyno results. The last one, we'll see after I get her back from getting the gears and T-Lok. That's tomorrow BTW. She's in the shop now. I'll let ya know.

it's BS

pullies add no more than about 8rwhp on average and a tune another 8-10 topps

even ASP only advertises about an 8rwhp gain with a dyno sheet for proof

Yes the pulleys you are talking about do add 8-10 hp, but yellow has a smaller higher performing set that frees up a little more hp than your adverage 25% reduction pulley kit.

Ok, a quick question: Right now if I roll down my windows my rpm's drop a little. If that happens now, won't it be a lot worse with the pulley's?

No, all pulleys do is they reduce the speed that the pulley system by reducing size. This allows the engine to transfer more power to the wheels. Now you will notice a slight, and I do mean an ever so sligh drop in rpms do to the fact that then engine isn't working as hard to spin the smaller lighter pulley system, this is how you save on gas. On the flip side you will rev a little quicker than you used to because of the shift in power to the rear wheels.

So pulleys really don't have anything bad about them, nice.

Oh so a race shop that's been using tuners since they came out is lying, and you know more than they do. Yea right. And I'm the new pope. I'll take thier word until I can prove otherwise. And that will be real soon. Like by next week at the most. And BTW..the dyno doesn't lie.

How much does pulley install cost, or is it easy to do it yourself?
