Power window problems
Hi we have are having a strange problem with the power windows in our 02 Mustang. One day the windows just stopped working (both of them). We've done some basic diagnostics and this is what we've found:
- Fuse checks out
- Applying 12V directly from the battery to the window motor will move the windows up and down normally.
- Voltage at the window switch appears unusually low to me (~1.5V)... that can't be normal can it?
What should we look for that could be the problem? Is there a relay that could be gone? Also I've read about this thing called a GEM under the dash that is wired into the window circuits. I've read that it's not uncommon for these to go bad but I haven't read about them causing this particular issue.
Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
