My first question is what are strait pipes? and my secound question it how many cat's does a 99 v6 stang have?

Straight pipes are just that. They go from the cats to the mufflers with no crossover pipe. And you should have 4 cats.

It's cheaper than adding a X-pipe or H-pipe. Altho an X or H pipe will sound better.
