Looking at buying a 04 mustang base
Hello, log story short I wrecked my Volvo and the repairs were too expensive so they considered it totaled. After collecting money from insurance I've found this nice 04 mustang (base v6) and would like any and all opinions on this car

You should be able to find a GT version for around the same price, privately owned. Keep in mind the trade in value for a 'good/excellent' condition 99-04 V6 is around 1800, and that's optimistic.
Unless that's the exact car you want and it's got a folder full of maintenance records, receipts, etc provided by the dealer then I'd look elsewhere. Because it's still a used car with over 100k miles and you will be replacing stuff here and there, or alot of things if nothing's been tackled already.
For close to 6k, many other cars come to my mind other than a 99-04 sixer.

That is an actual 40th aniversary package car, so the price is gonna be higher. See if you can talk them down to 4-4500 for it. Then, if you dont care, you could see the mirrors for $300-400 plus standard mirrors.

The 05-10 v6 has a whopping 7hp more and easily weighs 200lbs more so its a wash on power.
Also 100K miles on a 11 or 12 yr old car is fairly low mileage, especially if its from an area where you can drive all year round. (roughly 9k miles yearly)
