No you dont need to cut a hole. There is already one there. And to answer your air filter questions, you dont need to worry about buying a better one. The one that comes with the MAC kit is fine.

And a question of my own: Does the MAC cai setup come with a good filter like K&N or whatever or with a junky one that will need replaced with a good one?
There is no cutting of the fenger. It is on the inside of the fender between it and the black part in the wheel well

It's just a real beast to get the filter on the intake when its inside the fender. But oh well.

It's just a real beast to get the filter on the intake when its inside the fender. But oh well.
Remove the tire or use vasoline but be sure to wipe it off after
