[sm=bustedsign.gif]Hey spirit, I think you got one of those 3.8L V6s not a 3.9L, it will say it on either your intake or your fan, and your pic shows a 3.8L sticker on your fan, so you may want to change your sig. The only 3.9Ls were produced late in the year as a last ditch effort to sell off the last of the 04s to make room for the 05s, I talked to a salesman at Ford and he confirmed my theory. Its almost as if I were some sort of marketing major.
Oh yea I am, ISDS, business administration major.

Actually my emmissions sticker says 3.9L and my VIN# comes up with the same thing. It is a 3.9L. Ford used these for only part of the year in 04 and only in the American Mustang. The next year in 05 they went to the 4.0L. Thanks
BTW .... the pictue you see is not my Mustang it belongs to the person who started this thread. They do have a 3.8L.

Believe it or not, but the mods actually help gas. Now the duals with headers may give you 10 hp, but I wouldn't hope for anything more. You'll feel a little more throttle responce, and you'll love your new sound, but still don't expect to turn many heads accelleration wise.
I know about the V6 vs V8 sound. I am from the old school when headers were easy to install. Sixers were in a row. Duals could be put on my anyone with a torch and a bender. Catalic Converters were new. Four barrels and a high rise, tracton bars and a four speed. Headers, glass packs and popper stoppers. 14" rims were all you could get. Everything came with gaskets and clear instructions.
Now its oxygen sensors, catbacks and catforwards, performance chips and tuning. Instructions can only be downloaded. "Contact Us" is a button that goes no where.

Thats HR&B's car, and I thought they ran out of 3.8's in late 04 and slapped windstar engines in stangs.
I believe you're correct about the Windstar engines. I know the 3.9 was going to be put in a van of some type. The 3.9 was produced in Winsor, Canada....So I guess I have a Winsor 3.9. I don't need no stinking mods...I have a Winsor.[&:]
