Ebay turbos
Hi i'm new to the forums but have been browsing awhile. Anyways, does anybody have experiences with the $500 T3/T4 universal turbo kits on ebay? I was thinking of getting the kit, and when the turbo wears out (because it probably is bad) buy a Garrett turbo with the T3/T4 flange. Would this be plausible or is the whole thing garbage? Any help would be appreciated.

I would never buy a Turbo from eBay, unless it was a kit that came with everything
to mount it and get it working. Buying just a turbo doesn't mean it will fit the
application. What if the exhaust inlet doesn't mate up to any Ford exhaust
turbo manifold for mustang? Some are car manufacturer specific... I have
looked up items, and in parenthesis says (Fits 2008 Ford Mustang) knowing very well
it doesn't; they're full of crap. You can look up "2008 mustang wiper blades"
and just about every listing says it will fit... I bought an Eonon Android radio,
and is said "Fits 2008 Ford Mustang" sure, it FITS, but you need all the adapters,
and the mounting kit. I bought the radio, yeah, it fit, but the harness was for
a different car, so I pulled all the pins out and wired them to the Scosche ford
adapters, interface, and double din dash kit...
Fit is one thing, WORKS is another...

Why are you expecting the turbo to break? The main reason would be from lack of lubrication, or the
turbo is too small for the V6 and will have to spool faster. You're saying you're buying a kit with all
the precognition that the turbo will fail; then that's a kit I would not buy...
You can always use another turbo as long as it mounts to the flange... Not sure in how standardized the
flanges are. If it's a T3 flange, than you would surmise any T3 turbo would fit it...
