So you can polish the intake too
actually, you can only Polish it.
Not true. Extrude honing is a highly recommended way of doing a split port.

Do you mean the intake or the heads?

intake
edit: I should add that it is polishing, but it is also opening the ports up too.

hopefully they gave you all the info you were looking for.

Porting is opening up a tube...say from the size of a coffee straw to that of a McDonalds straw...its bigger and flows better. If you polish it....its super smooth so nooooooooo turbulance on the air and it flows BETTER.

doing a good P&P job on the intake and heads is a good way to add power to a split-port. i have personally ported a few uppers for some people. just by port-matching you can pick up 10 rwhp. i know, i've seen me do it.

So you do your P&P's in front of a mirror.

Hey Matt, did you just use a honing tool like for cylinders and just go to town on the thing, or did you use a micrometer and get a specific size? Just curious.

40,000 rpm die grinder and self calibrating micrometer. all are within 0.0001 of an inch apart. at least on my car. just the upper. the lower is just port matched to the heads and upper.
