Default getting 2004 v6

hi guys. ITs very possible that i might be getting a 2004 V6 3.9L auto vert . It only has 15000 miles on it. Its an automatic. Black convertable. I had a 1995 GT 5.0 until this past fall. I honsotly miss it alot. My GT was slightly modded (gears, exhaust, shift kit). But my first question is how will this v6 compare to my old GT that had 225hp stock. What kind of mods would be good to pep this car up a bit? I was thinking
K&N filter
Flowmaster exhaust or GT take off
possibly gears (little pricey though)
shift kit
chip

another question i have is about rims. I have my set of rims from my GT. They were 95 Cobra R rims. 17x10.5 with 315s on the back. The front rims are 17x8or9 i believe. Will these fit on my v6? They are 5 lug. Thanks
Big O

well, even though the 99+ v6 has just 30 or so HP less than your old 5.0, the torque isn't there. so you won't have that torquey feeling in the v6. get them gears though, and that'll wake her up a lot. the gears and t-lok should only run you like 700 or so installed. it's the only mod worth the money for a v6, other than nitrous.

oh, and you won't ever have that nice exhaust or engine note as the v8.

gears go with 4.10s and t-lok, dont do a chip, do a diablo hand held tunner, and then you not need a shift kit either,

i'd hate to pull out the GT card and get everyone all pissy, but you know you can get like a 99 or 00 GT for the same price as that 04 v6 probably.
