Default 2004 V-6 Questions

Hey there... I have a 2004 stock V-6 (3.9 liter) mustang. I have been reading a lot of your alls post and replies and it seems from wha ti have read there is actually a lot of stff I can do to my stang. My price range right now i would say is around 1,000-1500$. For that amount of money what should i be lookin to do ( CAI, Underdrive Pulleys, Gears, etc.) I have just been told by a bunch of dif people if its not a V-8 its slow ( painsy) ride and its not worth puttin money into. So for my price range what is the performance I am looking at? ( 0-60 times, 1/4 mile times, horsepower.)

Hey thanks a lot guys appreciate the time.... Im kinda new here and just checking ideas out.

Joe

I've got about 1800 in mods to my Stang. Look at the sig for the mods..This Saturday I'll find out how fast it is. I should be in the mid to high 15's. But it's not all about drags. I autocross as well. And I do better than a lot of V8's.

Well please tell me you have a standard, because if you don't it will take a little work, and a nice deal of cash, to free up an auto, this is why I'm really considering a GT or a Cobra, but check out my sig, I have about 2K invested in my car, but my cats cost just as much as yellows whole exhaust, so that's why my setup, is a little more expensive, although I still think its because he can't add, I'm thinking he really has about 2.5K, but maybe he managed to get some really sweet deals, damn Harvey, what a playa.

I'm about a week from starting my mods. I'm posting all the how to's here. Don't let them kid you, V6 ain't slow and a few mods will have them in your rearview.
Just go to http://www.supersixmotorsports.com/ and take a look around. We have allot of great sponsors right here too.

Mine SHOULD be about 200-210 RWHP since the last mods. I haven't been to the dyno since. 0-60, not sure.
And he was refering to you having a standard transmission. The autos are a little slower. But with a DiabloSport or SCT tuner, you can get much better transmission rersponse.

EDIT...
Stock RWHP on a 99+ V6 stang is about 160 RWHP..

Well depending on what you buy, and depending on if you are a standard or an auto, you will shave off maybe a half a second off of your 0-60 and your quarter. I'm betting harvey will dyno at about 185, I think he has a little ways to go to hit 200. Me, I'd probably dyno at 155, but that auto of mine, hurts, bad. Even the tuner has its limitations with an auto, but it does help. For instance, if harvey and I had a manual, he would probably 0-60 in about 7.5 seconds and I would in about 8.0-8.5 seconds, instead of the mid to high 8s for him, and the low to mid 9s for me see that's what I ment about autos being slow, they do hurt.

Already hit 188RWHP..I don't think I'll go backwards with the BBK 65mm T/B and porting the intake...
