Default upgrades

Hey guys, i have been a mustang lover forever and just got a 2004 3.8 auto v6 conv, but im new to the mod thing. I have a Cold air intake put on and thats all. i want to make it alot louder and i saw a 2000 gt take off and was wondering if that would be good to put on my car. also i talked to someone who told me he could clear out my cats to improve sound, gas, and hp for $100 bucks. was wondering if that was true and if thats a good price. i have been looking on the post and everyone is talking about a "cam" i was wondering what that is and about how much they should be. im kinda on a budget with school and the living on my own thing @ age 19. thanks guys

cam is HEAVY engine mods...WAY over your head for now. The cats idea is stupid and useless for you.

Get a crank pulley and a new belt that will run about $200 and gives you nice power

i think 100 bucks just to gut cats i a lot. you have a y-pipe exhaust setup and the only way you'll get any performance out of it is if you get rid of the y-pipe (go to true dual exhaust). getting a pulley like autobadges said is a good idea too.

Get both by getting the GT takeoff catback, convert to true dual exhaust, and replace the stock GT mufflers with FlowMasters.
