ok guys got a 1991 3.8 still running and not knocking but this wknd i went to check my oil and it was low,so i filled it and checked my water while i was at it, and guess what? i have oil mixed in with my radiator water,now im assuming that means i got a crack in my block somewhere, if so im going to try some block seal first before i consider my engine gone...but my question is could it be anything else?i mean i know if u got a blown head gasket,it usally means water in the oil...is there anything else that can cause oil in the water?oh yeah and after i added the oil it went down about a quart and a half in the last 5 daz.so its definitely leaking into there...thnx bb oh yeah and 1 more thing...im still driving it back and fourth to work, (about 20 miles a day) and its not doing anything bad,but its there....thnx again

If you have oil and water mixing, driving is not a good thing. If you also have water going into the oil, you can have extensive damage done to the bearing surfaces of internal parts, crank, cam, lifters, rockers, pistons, cylinder walls.

91 3.8? did somebody do an engine swap for your car? they didnt put 6ers in 91's
id like to know how it turned out if it did. i have a MM&FF mag from october 05 with an 88 notch v6 conversion, punchin out 1,320rwhp.

well 1st off thats the way we got it,with a 3.8 6 banger, auto tranny and it is a 1991..next im not getting water in the oil its the other way around,i always thought that if the head WAS leaking that u would get water in the oil,well thats not happening just oil in the radiator water.(no water in the block)so after this, do u still think it could be the head or something else?what else besides a cracked block can cause oil in the water? thnx again bb
